I can't afford a full pc upgrade so I want to upgrade the parts that are needed the most. What part should I upgrade so I can run new game like Metro Last Light, Thief, Alien Isolation etc.
My current specs:
DualCore AMD Athlon II X2 250, 3000 MHz (15 x 200)
ASRock N68-S3 UCC
NVIDIA GeForce GT 220 (1 GB)
4 Gigs of RAM

If you over clocked you CPU and bought a new GPU then you would reduce the bottleneck...but you will exp some bottleneck unless you upgrade your GPU and CPU

I'd say get a new GPU, what's your budget? you may be able to get both for a decent price for performance

You will not be able to get a better GPU with that PSU, it isn't even certified.

Get this CPU, it is compatible with your board

Buy this Power supply so you can get a better gpu

get this GPU, it is far more superior to use

Thats about $200 and your PC will be far greater I promise!

What do you mean its not certified? What will I be able to run with these? Also why do I need this CPU when it is 3.0Ghz the same as my one-because it is quad-core? Also will all these parts be compatable with my motherboard? In stead of the r7 250x can I get the 260x, will everything still be fine?

Certified meaning it will be trusted to actually hold somewhat of that wattage it says it will. Like yours, its a 400w bit isn't certifed so it wouldn't give you true power. The Power supply I chose for you is 80+ Bronze certified so it will hold at least 430w of true power.

You will be able to run most games on medium with the 250x. maybe not BF4 though. And Yes, you could get either the 260x or the 250x, with the 260x you will play most games on high, some on ultra

The CPUs ghz frequency (Clock Speed) hardly matters because one CPU can almost always have the same clock speed as another, what matters in your case is newer tech and CORES! 2 more cores will make a huge difference, especially when overclocking

I've checked your motherboard and all of the parts ar compatible, It supports most of the Athlon series and you have a PCI Express 16x port. You're good dude.

I gave you those parts according to your budget. Change what you want but i'm just trying to help

I talked with my father and he told me that he'd help me a little with the cash so my budget is now 300$-305$. Can you recommend me stuff with that budget that will be compatible with my mobo and everything. Also thanks a lot for the help you already gave me. So the good thing is I don't need a new mobo, thats cool too.

Get this CPU, I have checked the compatibility. It was a bitch finding it! But it is cheaper than expected

keep the same PSU

This GPU will out perform the 250x and will compliment your new CPU perfectly.

This will be a great build. I was honestly surprised that your motherboard could support what it does. What resolution while you be playing at? This will greatly determine what graphics settings the card will allow.

EDIT: Oh yeah! And your slightly under budget by like $20 so you could get some case fans or Doritos or something :p
