Hello
I want to upgrade ny graphics card..
I have an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 with an ASUS p5g41t-m lx2 motherboard and an old NVIDIA Sparkle GTX460 768MB graphics card ... ill buy a pair of 2 ram memories (4 GB each) and the only thing i want is a good graphics card ... which one would be the best option?

Solution
yes, upgrade your ram that would help alot more, the gtx 460 is still a respectable GPU for entry level gaming, it's equal to the modern hd 7770 / r7 250x

yours has 768mb of ram, so I wouldn't crank the settings up on 1080p, but it should be able to play 720p high settings very smoothly :D

I'd suggest just upgrading to the 8gb of ram for now :D

I think that depends on how intensive gaming you want to play, and your budget. A 1gb video card will run 'most' games with decent fps, 2gb better, but the 'newest' games, are so intensive some folks have a 4Gb video card! (which of course will cost a lot more). So people, what's the 'top' video card nowadays?

If you're ok with buying used I'd suggest an r9 270 which only cost like ~100 or less used, they're not much brand new either.

I pair an hd 7870ghz with my old and weak (compared to my i5) Phenom x6 and it performs respectable in modern games. The core 2 quads are still respectable, I have a c2q desktop sitting around. Now don't expect 60fps with everything maxed out in new games, but they should push 30+ at 1080p high/ultra still. Here's a vid of a guy playing BF4 multiplayer on a low clocked core 2 quad :D

"Mostly I have 45 - 70 FPS. Sometimes it lagged because of the recording.
I play the game at 1920x1080 at medium settings.
My PC:
Mainboard: AsRock G31M-GS R2.0
CPU: Intel Core 2 Quad Q8200 @ 2.4Ghz
GPU: Nvidia Geforce GTX 650 (Gainward)
Ram: 2x2Gb Corsair 830 Mhz

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64 Bit"

@Whitesnake
Thanks for your time..
Another question.. what do you think of my current gpu?
Would it be better to upgrade my ram memory first and leave the gpu for later?
