Some one got me the HP Pro 3330MT but its lacking a bit and i was hoping to upgrade it with a new graphics card and RAM.

Can the AMD Radeon R9 285 fit and function with this machine? If not, is there any similar Graphics Card that can work? Help please

Any card in that range would work.I would look at the r9 280,it's often similar in price or even cheaper.
For the psu is a good 550watt good enough, you don't need 750watts for that.A list to help you pick one,

look at tier 1 or 2A/B.If none out of those are available should one from tier 3 be good too.Maybe good with the psu in the top of that case that you look at a (semi) modular one.

If you need help with picking a psu can you ask here or make a new thread.is up to you.Maybe good to give a link to a site you're looking at in that case.

Vic, Thanks man.

One more thing: I have just discovered the motherboard is 2nd Gen with the Intel i5-2400s 2nd gen CPU. I would like to get a 3rd Gen CPU upgrade (an i7 preferably). Is this a good idea? or maybe the 3rd gen CPU under performs noticeably on a 2nd gen motherboard?

I can't say for sure if that motherboard will support a newer type cpu. There are bios updates, but i can't again say that these make that support happen.Maybe ask on that HP site you started a similar topic.
For the bios updates,
http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5160082&swLangOid=8&swEnvOid=4058
i think this is your pc but check for yourself too, again maybe get a second opinion on that HP site.

You could see if there would be a i7 2600 for sale, maybe even second hand for a decent price which should be supported according to that site you linked. This on it's own should give a performance boost looking at the speed differences which is 900mhz on all four cores stock.
A small, but better cooler like the hyper tx3 or similar, because they are better, would make it imo for such a cpu easier to use the turbo speeds.
