Youtube and HTML5 Player in Internet Explorer 11

Internet Explorer 11 is forcing HTML5 Player on Youtube and now it doesn't even give you an option to switch to Flash Player like before on https://www.youtube.com/html5 page. The most annoying thing of HTML5 player is that when watching long videos on Youtube, my display is turning off while that doesn't happen when I use Flash Player. I want my monitor to turn off after some time when pc is idle (I am on "Balanced" Power Option) and changing that setting every time just to watch html5 video is really annoying.

So I want to ask is there anyway to force Flash Player on Youtube in IE 11 (Including add-ons like YouTube Center on Firefox) or is there anyway to resolve "Display Turning Off" problem while using HTML5 Player without disabling Power Options?

Maybe more than that, but it's a start. Open IE 11, click Tools and remove the check mark from ActiveX Filtering, if any. Restart IE 11 and try YouTube again.

Its unchecked.
The only solution so far is to watch HTML5 videos in Fullscreen mode because in that case my display is not being turned off but I don't know why it turns off while watching in normal mode.
And why in the hell IE 11 is not allowing us to switch to Flash Player? Youtube on Firefox is still running on Flash.

Yes. I made a reset too. I don't think that only I have this problem, everybody who is using Internet Explorer 11 should have this problem too.

I don't believe so, as many can watch videos with Flash on YouTube, using IE 11.

Tried any of the latest solutions above?

Its been a few months since both IE 11 and Chrome are using HTML5 player as a default player on YouTube without an option to switch to Flash Player. You can check it yourself, simply follow this link: https://www.youtube.com/html5. Chrome users can install YouTube Center add on and switch to Flash Player from there but IE 11 users can't install that add on and simply forced to use HTML5 player. My only issue with HTML5 is that unless I watch videos on Full Screen mode, my display is turning off or computer is going to sleep like when my pc is on idle.

Sorry to repeat myself, but you haven't answered my question about Compatibility View and the other suggestions under it.

And if you still cannot play Flash videos on YouTube, try tricking YouTube into thinking you have an older version of IE by changing your User-Agent String with the help of UAPick.

You might be able to change the User-Agent String in IE 11 by pressing F12 as well.

In Firefox, I've been able to reproduce your problem by changing my User-Agent String to the one used by IE 11:

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; Trident/7.0; rv:11.0) like Gecko

Running Youtube in compatibility mode brought the Flash Player back but every time I click on a video I am getting "You need Adobe Flash Player" message and only after 2-3 seconds later the video begins to play, which is annoying. So Compatibility Mode is not an option for me.

Is there any way to stop my computer going to sleep while watching HTML5 videos without disabling my power options. Watching in Full Screen mode helps but is there anyway to do that in Normal Mode?

No it didn't help but anyway thanks for your efforts.
I hope that in the future HTML5 player updates will fix this issue and when watching videos, computers won't act like being on idle.

That's odd. YouTube sees you're using IE 11 on Windows 8 with the User-Agent String. I changed my UAS in Firefox to IE 11 and I then could only see videos in HTML5.

I think I've given you many possibilities. I don't think there's anything else you can do other than change for a superior browser like Firefox or Google Chrome.

The problem is IE 11's User-Agent String.

If you do not want to install a program to change your User-Agent String, the following article describes how to do it with F12 (Developer Tools):

Firefox is my main browser and I don't have any problems with it. In near future Firefox will also move to HTML5 player on Youtube like IE and Chrome but with "Disable Youtube HTML5 Player" for Chrome and "Youtube Centre" for Firefox add ons this problem is easily fixed on those two browsers.

That's odd. One of my posts just disappeared! This is not the most user-friendly forum I've used...

So, here goes, again... Two programs to simulate activity on your computer, in order to avoid screensaver or sleep:

Mouse Jiggler and Caffeine.
