Hi, I own an HP laptop (pavilion dv-6180us) and it has been giving me a lot of trouble lately. I sent it to a repair shop to fix a blue screen some time ago, which was apparently caused by a corrupt video driver. Now that I have it back, it doesn't blue screen anymore, but it freezes regularly, and not even when I am using a lot of memory (after opening google chrome, while watching something on netflix, etc.)
The freeze causes the screen to black out and the fans will bump up to (likely) 100%. I am then forced to do a hard reboot, and every time this happens I am forced to restore the system with startup repair.
I have already formatted and restored my computer to its factory condition via disk. I'm going to try memtest this afternoon as I am starting to suspect that this is a RAM issue, and will update this thread once I have done so.
If anyone has any suggestions or has experienced this issue before, I would be immensely grateful for the help .
