This particular desktop that I ham having problems with I acquired with no HDD.. After patching it up with a new HDD and Win. 7, I ran into an unexpected problem when I was going through my normal after-check after setting up any PC, I found that the Ethernet controller was missing when I checked device manager. The motherboard does have an onboard controller so I guessed it was the drivers. I went searching and found what I had thought was the correct drive, but that did diddly-squat. I'm sorry to those of you who are reading this and feel as if I'm an idiot wasting everyone's time with a simple problem, but I'm just stuck here like a stick in mud.
