I have two HDDs and one SSD that I wanted to install for better performance. I have a Samsung 850 pro 256GB. I understand that to get the best performance from the SSD, I need a SATA 6gb/s cable, but I do not know if the cables for hard drives and SSDs are different. I am just trying to get the best performance off of the SSD. And also, how do i identify if my motherboard has a SATA 3 port? I have it open and is it possible to physically identify it?

Some cables may have written on them "6 Gb/s" signifying SATA III speeds, but typically the cables should all provide the same performance.
As for finding out which headers on the mobo are SATA III capable read the manual.
