do you need to reinstall windows when putting a hard drive into a new pc

i have windows 8 pro currently on my hard drive with all the files and programs i need to i need to wipe it before i start my pc build or can i use the same one >?

I've experienced an OS that was still operational from moving the HDD from one computer to another, but usually not. Incorrect drivers and the hardware abstraction layer usually prevent it from working.

Try it. If it doesn't work, it'll blue screen. If it does that, then you'll have to back up your data and start from scratch.
