Hi all. Yesterday I've built my first PC. When I was putting the stock fan on the cpu I didnt pay attention if there is any thermal paste on the fan. Is there a way to check without opening the PC? I'm really worried that I may fry the cpu...
Thanks. :)

And how exactly would you propose this can be checked? Take it apart, no other way. Since you haven't used your cpu much then I don't think there is a need for you reapply the thermal compound if that's what you are worried about. Only after time does the thermal compound harden to the point that it would need replacing.

And as far as I know, if they didn't give you thermal compound in a shot, then it should come preapplied on the cooler itself.

thanks for the answers. I'll open the pc and check myself but the pc is 2 days old, when i take out the fan, should i apply new thermal paste(if there's any) or the old one(which isn't old) is still good. :)
