Hi,
Looking to selll my current 60hz 1080p 23" monitor for £50 then buy a new 144hz monitor for £200ish which I'll use for gaming and watching films...

Here's all I have so far:

http://www.dabs.com/products/viewsonic-vg2401mh-24--full-hd-144hz-1ms-gaming-monitor-9W62.html?refs=58030000-14-57080000-56670000&src=3
(Monitor is really £200 because I have a voucher)

or this :

144hz, same size and stuff but also 3d ready for an extra £16..

What would you guys choose?
Thanks!

Any reason why?
The only noticeable feature I've noticed is the face that the Acer monitor has 3d capabilities but then I'd have to fork out another £100 for the NVIDIA 3d glasses despite already owning a 3d tv downstairs..

I am more partial to ViewSonic than I am to Acer when it comes to monitors. Now since these are practically the same monitor, I went for the Viewsonic because of that.

And another reason is because the ViewSonic appears to have a far better stand (swivels, etc..)

Yeah the 3d part would cost over £100 too..

I actually have an old viewsonic/acer monitor set up right now! one 24" and one 21.5" next to eachother haha!

Viewsonic seems like a good choice, sort of gutted that the free game promotion ended on the 31st though :(

Looking at the specs they all have the same.. I'm not 'calling you out' haha just curious as to why you'd prefer that monitor?

Difference are Gaming Features
Black eQualizer / Motion Blur Reduction which acer and viewsonic doesn't have
Low Blue Light keeps eye not too strain

and the price is quite good lol

Think I'm going to choose the Viewsonic as the black equalizer thing is included with it I guess, it's called Gaming mode and it lights up all the dark areas without increasing the brightness on the rest of the screen.

Motion Blur reduction is probably hardly noticeable :p
Low blue light is something I'd also never use.

So for the price I'm going to just go to the Viewsonic I think :p
Thanks though!

I would have to agree :p Besides.. apparently motion blur is "cinematic" Isnt that what the kids call it now adays? ;)

Anyways, any reason you don't want a 1440p?

I ended up going for the Benq anyway, would have had to pay £12 for shipping on the viewsonic so I thought for the extra £10 why not get a more 'reputable' manufacture..

I'm not really sure to be honest, I think if I had a 4k monitor I'd constantly want to upgrade so my rig could run it perfectly haha, bit of an OCD! My current rig is a 780 ti, i7 4790k and 16GB corsair vengeance ram :)

Your hardware can still hardly run 4K@60hz. Need at least GTX 980 SLI 2x or even 3x
http://www.guru3d.com/articles-pages/geforce-gtx-980-sli-review,23.html

In reality 1440p 144hz might be a better choice if no budget limit like the in CSE 2015, new BenQ XL2730Z or Acer XB270HU

I disagree :p

Running one 980 at 4k on games that people actually play is more realistic and even a 970 would be fine.

I still think 4K is a future not present if really want to play with high refresh rate + smoothest experience when gaming.
1 gtx 980 or 970 to play 4k is barely meet, not to mention that the budget/hardware cost to build and games(now) to support.
