So i have been having problems trying to use a new mic with my sennhiesser 558's. It is the Antlion Modmic 4.0 http://www.modmic.com/pages/faq
For some reason my mic jack on my motherboard and front panel jack will not pick up the microphone. I tried using a USB sound card(cheap 6$) and it picks the mic up and it will work. only problem is the sound quality is bad. Does it sound terrible because it is cheap? any ideas on how to get the mic jacks on my pc working? Will a sound card that is not cheap and plugs in PCI work better?
