Well, I had a RAM problem and got a DDR3 for a motherboard only comparable with DDR4 so I got a new RAM stick but I still want to continue with my build and add the ram later. Is it possible to test startup my motherboard to make sure it's working and continue with the build without RAM?

You can plug the power cables in and check that it's receiving power, but that's about the extent of what you can do without the DRAM. The DRAM is like your body's nervous system - without it, it's just a vegetable with a dormant brain.
