Basically the stock AMD cooler is a joke. Playing games such as Skyrim or Far Cry 3 takes the CPU up near 90°c with this POS. 212 EVO is apparently one of the best air coolers out there.

But, I have a Micro ATX motherboard, so the RAM is very close to the CPU. I only have 2 RAM slots so I'm not at the liberty of sacrificing a slot. Could this cooler fit correctly, or am I screwed out of having a good cooler?

Sorry about my rude tone but I'm annoyed that AMD gave me a cooler that doesn't protect my CPU from damaging heat levels. Especially since it's a flidding APU. My video card has better cooling than my CPU...

Might depend on the case, the cooler is fine on the mobo, and if the case is wide enough then DRAM isn't a problem as you can adjust the fan on the EVO, I'm running Tridents under a EVO on my Z87 (in sig

really depends on the motherboard. but if you're ram isn't too tall, I'd wager it's likely it would work- the 212's fins are up a bit from the socket (not sure how best to describe). The best bet is to tell us the motherboard model and see if anyone's using the 212. Or look online for your MB model number and "212 Evo"

I think PCPartPicker.com also has some compatibility lists for coolers.
