Hi. I'm new to the forums and may have created this under the wrong category so sorry about that!

Anyways, I'm currently planning on building a PC and do not know which kind of power supply and case I should buy.

Specs are as follows;
i7 4790K
Asus ROG Maximus VII Ranger z97
Corsair 16GB Vengeance DDR3 1600Mh MHz Cl9
Seagate Barracuda 2 TB 3.5" Internal Hard drive x2
Samsung 840 EVO series 2.5" SSD 500gb
Corsair H100i Extreme Performance Liquid CPU cooler
2x Gigabyte overclocked 4GB 970's in SLI.

Please let me know if I should change any of the parts out so they perform better and a reason as to why you recommend them!

I'd also prefer a case that has good ventilation as I'm planning on using this PC for gaming.

Thanks for the info! I'll check them out, also what parts did you think was overkill for gaming? Would love any recommendations!

Will that 750Watt be overkill or just enough? Because I read somewhere that if you have a PSU that's more than enough it ends up dragging your peak performance down?

Corsair Obsidian 450D Review
^ quality - elegant - minimalistic - spacious - great cable management

Reviews - EVGA Supernova G2 750W
^ excellent !!! and more than enough since such setup will hardly reach 400w of total power consumption under full load even if overclocked!

aim for a faster RAM kit. 2133mhz cl9 would be ideal and wont be much more expensive!!

hye ,
For the PSU i would go with the coirsair ax860 platinum and you may even get the "i" verson which has link support as your h100i.
You could save a few bucks and maybe buy a 144mhz monitor if you trade the i7 4790k for a i5 4690k if only gaming is the objective with this build.
Asus ROG Maximus VII Ranger z97 , again a bit overkill if you're a "regular user " in my opinion.
Samsung 840 EVO series 2.5" SSD 500gb is a great SSD and i have one too but in my time the 850 weren't arround so if you're buying a new one i suggest going with the 850.
By the 2x Gigabyte overclocked 4GB 970's in SLI you mean the normal gigabyte one or the g1 gaming ? look in to that , i have the gtx 970 g1 gaming and i love everything about it.

Generally I7 and 16 gb ram is a bit more than required for gaming an I5 4690k with 8 gb ram should be enough for any game and performance wise there will be not much of a difference if any.

The 750 watt would be enough for 2x gtx 970 SLI you dont have to worry about that the cards are pretty low on power consumption.

Unfortunately, the place i'm buying my parts from are out of stock for the DDR3 version and only have a 32gb Rip.Jaws4 DDR4 which is out of my budget range. Should I stick with my current vengeance DDR3 version or get a Kingston version that is 2133mhz

Damn. The place i'm buying it from doesn't sell Corsair 780T's.. they only sell

Corsair 380T Black Mini-ITX Gaming Case -
Corsair Obsidian 250D Mini ITX Case
Corsair Carbide Series® Air 540 High Airflow ATX Cube Case - White
Corsair Graphite Series 230T - ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, Black on Black with Red LED fans
Corsair Obsidian Series 350D With Window
Corsair Vengeance C70 - Military Green
Corsair 300R Carbide Series
Corsair Obsidian 650D

Are any of these good? Or should I be getting other brands..

Btw, i've found this one -
16GB G.Skill DDR3 2400MHZ Quad Channel RipjawsX

Will that work with my current motherboard and specs? (also is it good?)

Corsair 380T Black Mini-ITX Gaming Case -
Corsair Obsidian 250D Mini ITX Case
Corsair Carbide Series® Air 540 High Airflow ATX Cube Case - White
Corsair Graphite Series 230T - ATX Mid Tower Computer Case, Black on Black with Red LED fans
Corsair Obsidian Series 350D With Window
Corsair Vengeance C70 - Military Green
Corsair 300R Carbide Series
Corsair Obsidian 650D

all these options are compatible with h100i however the mini itx ones cannot be an option for an SLI setup !

16GB G.Skill DDR3 2400MHZ Quad Channel RipjawsX

will work with i7 4790K / Asus ROG Maximus VII Ranger z97 . there is a chance though for 2400hz, might be need a minor cpu overclock . will defenately work as 2133mhz at stock settings!

They only sell the normal gigabyte one, is the G1 Gaming version that much better?
Also for the SSD, The 850 only goes up to 512 GB will that be enough for gaming
The others have suggested me to buy an EVGA 750 W 80+ Gold PSU, what are the differences between the corsair you suggested and the EVGA one.

I'm planning on buying an AsusPB278Q ROG Swift monitor ~

Well, the ax series is the top of the line for corsair and are made from seasonic . They are fully modular and platinum certificate.AS i said previously , you can choose the "i" line that has the link support and are fully controlled by software. The extra 110w will help with the SLI and cpu OC since most reviewers advice 800w + for gtx 970 SLI.
If you already have 2x 2TB hdd i think 500gb for an SSD will be more the enough but either way you can't go rong with the 840/850 EVO.
The G1 just comes with higher OC out of the box and overall the personally i think the extra $$ are worth since i love the gigabyte model. Note that the g1 gaming still is from Gigabyte and the box are very similar , ask if they have that version where you are buying.

The only G1 version they sell is for the 980. The other people from another forum have recommended MSI 970 Sli becuase apparently they OC better. Should I just buy the single 980 instead of the SLi 970's? OR Should I go for the MSI 970's

For 1080p gaming single /sli gtx 970 is the way to go, MSI and Gigabyte are the best brands to choose from the 970 gtx so its all about the one which you like the most and you think it goes best in color scheme . I'm a sucker for the windforce cooler and as soon as i saw the windforce logo led i had to have one . They are both great brands and you won't see any big diffrence from each other in MSI vs G1. Since you don't have the GTX 970 G1 i would go with the MSI 970.
