Memory Compatibility Issues

I built a pc early last year and ran into a problem at one point. I narrowed it down to a hardware problem, since reinstalling Windows did nothing.

What happens is the browser has issues loading pages. Broken images appear. Unfinished pages. And even no page. Let it sit idle with the browser open and it behaves for a little while. That is until it happens again.

I started getting the blue screen later and the ram tested as bad. I sent the ram back and got a new pair and it still happened. Finally someone suggested that the memory may be incompatible. I haven't tested this theory, but I did discover that some ram sticks despite being technically right for my system. I found a list of compatible ram and it wasn't on the list.

So I guess I'm trying to confirm that this could easily be it. So what kind of things does one see if the ram is incompatible? Could this really be it?

Solution
The gold standard for ram testing is memtest86+.
Run it for a couple of full passes.
You should get NO errors.

You could go to the crucial web site and access their ram compatibility app.
If your ram is supported on your motherboard, you should be ok.

In the end, I think your problem lies elsewhere.
AMD motherboards are very sensitive to ram.
Possibly there is a bios update that is needed.
DO NOT update the bios unless it has a fix for your problem.
A failed bios update can brick your motherboard.

Another possibility is your graphics card or it's driver.
