hello everyone,
i found this forum after i decided to get a gaming pc after playing all my life on consoles.
So I read a lot of threads and i think im about to put a good pc together.
But I still need some help from someone who has knowledge of building PCs. So I need to know which power supply I need for my components and I still couldnt decide whuch case to get.
I'd appreciate your suggestions.

Here are my parts: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/fKXxkL

If you can recommend anything else to change or add please dont hesitate to inform me.

Thanks

You only need 750W if you do add a second GTX970. You can use the PSU calculator at http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp to see how big a PSU you need.
One of the things I like about Rosewill cases is that they typically come with more fans than their closest competitors. Check the listings for the case you choose to see how many fans are included. Typically, only two case fans are sufficient for decent airflow, a rear exhaust and a front intake. If you have more fans (e.g. a top fan too), you may be able to run them at lower speeds.

I would go with a 750 watt psu from a good brand like corsair or seasonic, as a case it depends on what you like, for example the define r5 from fractal design is a very nice case
ps: the build looks solid

That's a nice system, similar to something I might build for that budget. If strictly for gaming though, you can safely save money by getting an i5 instead of an i7.
As to power, a quality 500W-550W unit would be sufficient for your build. I would choose a model built by Seasonic (their own, XFX, some Antec) or Super Flower (Rosewill Capstone, Kingwin Lazer, EVGA B2 or G2).
As to the case, that's a highly subjective matter, but on the budget end of the spectrum I'd choose Rosewill, as I've been happy with every one of their cases I've used. A little higher up I'd probably go with Fractal Design or Corsair. Antec has good offerings too, but IMHO sometimes comes up short on cable management space.

If I were you I would do the same, my system is in a 750d aswell and its a really good case: almost no noise, easy to build in (despite the size) and can fit almost any build.
This is the case I also build my first pc in and I had no problems.

ok thanks
if I add a second gpu would 750 watt still be enough?
A for the case the design is not that important.

Do I need any kind of additional components for cooling?

750 watt is plenty enough for another gpu, and the noctua cpu cooler is a very good one, but I would go for the hyper 212 evo, its cheaper and performce very good (my brother has it) just look for a case that would fit its height

The Noctua is a much better cooler than the Hyper212 EVO, which is a bang/buck Loser compared to its competition. The Hyper212 EVO is not a bad cooler, but you can get similar performance for 10%-20% less from any number of its 120mm competitors (including the previous-version Hyper212+). All of them are outclassed by the Noctua. Consider how much overclocking you'd like to do before downgrading your cooler.

but if he would not or mildly overclock, the hyper 212 evo is perfect and 30$ cheaper (where I live)

with power supply dont need one of those fancy cal. just add the cpu wattage and the one or two gpu wattges together. that the main voltage on the 12v rail. for safty make sure there 100w more then needed on the 12v rail. on power supplys make sure you buy a newer unit that has one 12v rail. with a power supply if you buy one that near the limit of those power supply cal. a few things can happen. one the unit runs hot as it near it max output...two it can ripple out on you. buying a larger unit will keep the unit running cooler and with cap age the unit wont ripple out.

Yes, and competitors to the often-parroted Hyper212 EVO take another $5-$10 off that. Like I said, the [awwwwwk!] Hyper212 EVO [awwwwwk!] is not a bad cooler, but it is a bang/buck Loser, and I try not to recommend Losers.

so the i5 4690k would make no difference in games? and is good enough so i dont have to upgrade in the near future?

There may be one or two new games that are very well threaded that might show a small (but perceptible) difference with the i7. In most games there would be no difference. Personally, I doubt it is worth the extra money. IMHO I am certain any difference would not be worth an upgrade. Unless you plan to render video, stream or record while you are playing, or other strenuous multi-tasking, the i5 will be sufficient.

ok good.

so for the psu i want to go with a corsair rm 750. and for the case maybe the corsair 400r, 200r, Carbide SPEC-03, 350d or 230t. what do you think about the cases? i dont really want to pay more than 100 on a case.

thanks
