Hello, I'm upgrading my old mobo and CPU to an Asus M5A97 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131767 and AMD 8350 CPU. The issue is that I've read that I'll need to reinstall Windows 7. I don't have the disc, but I have the activation code. I've read that the disc isn't necessary though because I can download and boot the Windows 7 files from a usb drive. I watched this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFJwiILbsdo ... is that a good way of going about things? In all, how should I reinstall Windows 7 after an upgrade to mobo and CPU? (It is an OEM).

I would download the appropriate Windows 7 version from this official link: http://www.w7forums.com/threads/official-windows-7-sp1-iso-image-downloads.12325/
Then, follow the instructions listed in this article:http://pcsupport.about.com/od/windows7/a/install-windows-7-usb.htm
You might need to change the boot order in the BIOS.
