I just bought a Xbox one controller for my PC and while I was playing far cry 4 to test it out the controller wouldn't vibrate even though the setting is turned on. Can anybody help? Im running windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit.

But the game is on PC? When I go into settings for the controller in game there's one to turn on and off the vibration

It is plugged in, the controller works just not the vibration.

thats funny i have an xbox one controller that i use for gaming on my pc and it works just fine, vibration and everything. i don't have far cry 4 tho, maybe the issue is specific to that game. maybe try updating drivers and restarting your system?

The vibration shouldn't have anything to do with the drivers. All vibration settings will be set in the in-game settings. Also are you using a wired or wireless controller? If it is wireless you may try getting a new set of batteries.

i use a wired xbox one controller and it vibrates and such like it is supposed to. the only driver i used was the official on from microsoft. did not have to configure anything. you might have just gotten a bad controller. if it won't start working, then i'd return it and get a new one. hopefully that would fix the issue.

pretty sure the xbox one controller doesn't have wireless support for pc yet, and op already stated it is plugged in, so that's not the issue. i was talking about the driver for the actual controller, not the game. make sure your driver is up to date (don't see why it wouldn't be but check anyway) mine is version 6.2.11059.0

same driver version i am using. should be the newest one available unless a new one has come out in the last few weeks.

Game developers will release updates that will support the new driver. But until that happens you may have some issues. I know that Dark Souls II is one that has issues as well. You may check and see if there are updates that need to be made to the game to see if that improves the performance of the controller. Have you tried any other games other than Far Cry 4?
