Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me out here.
I purchased a HDMI to DVI or VGA (15 pin) to connect my old desktop to my Samsung All-In-One monitor. I've tried absolutely everything I could think of. Of course it's not as easy as hitting the source button on my all-in-one. When I do it's just a blank screen with a floating box stating 'No Signal HDMI'. Please help, I need to get my wife's resume off this old desktop!

Thanks in advance!

Is it a proper convertor or just a cable? VGA is analog and HDMI is digital so there need to be some electronics to do the conversion. From reading reviews and forum posts it seems that most of these convertors just don't work (except under exceptional circumstances). You may need to buy or borrow a monitor with a VGA input - you should be able to get an old one for next to nothing.

Edit: Many TVs have VGA inputs. Have you checked yours?

Thank you for the response. Yes, it's the proper converter and wasn't cheap either! My Samsung computer only has HDMI In and Out, no VGA. I does seem like many others are having the same issue out there. I may need to get an old monitor to get the files and pics I need off the old relic! Thanks again!
