Try this one - http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/4cjfRB - better PSU, more RAM, better CPU Cooler, SSD, HDD and MOBO for 1200 pounds

This will look much cooler in the side window with an AIO water cooler - Don't get an EVO cooler - they're noisy and can be difficult to install not to mention Ugly. I'm guessing by the bright red case you're going for a look - the MSI stuff is all Red and Black as well and looks cool. I couldn't do an ASUS ROG board in budget, but those MOBO's have vert cool red LEDs in them and they're a damn good board - I have the Maximus Ranger VII and it's pretty good (see my build in my sig). Maybe you could drop the Cooler back to the H75 and get a ASUS ROG board instead?

Just use your old optical drive to do the install then take it out again - who uses them now anyway except for an install? I don't include software in my builds - that's for a different forum :) (but I suggest getting OEM copy of Windows with any MOBO + HDD purchase as it's cheap)

No, wont matter about the bays, to get the cost down, go into the build and select edit and swap out some items.

If you want to get it down a bit:
- drop back the RAM to 8GB RAM (2 x 4GB chips)
- drop the SSD down to 120GB (But stay with the Extreme II)
- drop the HDD down to 1 or 2 TB instead
- consider an i5-4690k instead - it will perform to the same level for the i7-4690 if you overclock it - the i5's will run any game out there today (most only use 2 CPU cores anyway, and Hyper Threading doesn't make much difference in gaming either.

You could even take a further step back to the i5-4670k and not notice much difference.

The i7-4790 vs i5-4670k here http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4790-vs-Intel-Core-i5-4670K
The i7-4790 vs i5-4690k here http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Core-i7-4790-vs-Intel-Core-i5-4690K

As you can see, you don't get much of a performance step up from the i5-4690k vs. the i7-4790

This is also interesting when considering the CPU - http://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/1452-haswell-refresh-worth-it-4790-4690-4360-vs

Good luck :)
