Help me build a PC . The project requirements is to not go over the budget and have the computer post successfully. I can spend up to 450 dollars but don't have to the computer simply has to post. I can use a free OS like Linux or purchase Windows 7/8. The build cannot be a Raz Pi and has to be built like a HTPC or similar like build. I am wondering if I can build one at 100 dollars? The parts can be used, new, refurbished or whatever as long as it posts successfully.

well what does it need to do? As a raspberry pi model B+ fits nicely into it at around $89.99 normal price.
Link to where to get it on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Raspberry-Complete-Starter-Includes-Quick/dp/B00L87YMGM/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1420615177&sr=8-3&keywords=raspberry+pi+kit
Now if you need it to do more than just what a simple computer can do you will want to build a PC from scratch instead of getting a $89.99 kit of hardware orginally designed to be a school learning platform for programming.
For anything more than just word processing, simple spread sheets, little databases, web browsing and simple flash files you will need an actual computer but if you are just making it for a collage class the raspberry pi model B+ fits into the budget nicely.

Now if it is an assignment to build a fully flegded computer here is a simple cheap computer build.

a computer which will fit nicely into the budget and as a computer from like year 2005 it will go along with the theme of low cost computers for educational propuses though i think the raspberry pi would be a better platform for actually doing stuff on if you have a file server and/or use the cloud. The raspberry pi model B+ is a good computer for learning how to program on, how to install programs, how to install operating systems, how to do partitioning of the hard drive on and etc. like that while the entire PC build is good for that in addition to haveing the expenice of how to build a computer and how to hook it up and make it work from the part boxes to the Lubuntu / Xubuntu or Fedora Xfce / LXDE system.
