hi i bought a laptop with a missing hdd unintentonally, i have now got an old hdd in it and have cloned this hdd onto an ssd but i cant seem to get the ssd to appear as a boot option in bios, i have the driver folders for the ssd, unsure what to do next as i see no drives showing up under boot priority, also unsure how to flash the bios if thats what i need to do, no usb/floppy drive to hand and msi updater says not for notebooks

Hey there, Mike!

You should make sure the SATA mode in the BIOS is set to AHCI for the SSD.
I believe these links will be useful to you:

It was set to that, going to give it another go shortly, the hdd im cloning from is so near death i suspect this could be an issue, as it happens in addition to the ssd i have got a 750gb wd black hdd for storage, thanks for the links, will have a read up. x

I see, which cloning software are you using?
Because there are plenty of choices on that one, I personally like Acronis True Image.
I can also suggest you to check this thread as well for other suggestions:

P.S. Good choice on the WD Black as a secondary HDD for your system! :)

Keep me posted!
