I just bought this laptop to replace my 2003 Dell and after about 10 times of usage it is dead. Support says I am out of warranty, yet it was their support tool that said I needed to update my BIOS which I did. Can anyone help me? I moved ALL my pictures to this new computer and fear they are gone.... I will NEVER buy another TOSHIBA again. They break their own product and then ask me to pay to fix it.

You can pull the drive, put it in another computer or a USB enclosure, and then access your pictures from there.

A quick search online didn't find anyone selling the BIOS chip but it may just take more digging. My one hit for a replacement motherboard goes for about US$94.
