New upgrade from slightly older rig.

I am getting my new MOBO and Processor Tomorrow. I opened my current system and noticed that my PSU only has 1x4 pin CPU connector, the new board has an 8 pin. Can I use this temporarily until I can afford the new PSU next week?

I have only ever overclocked 1 CPU before and that was this X2 550, never could get it right so I went back to default with 1 extra core unlocked. I have OC'd a few Video cards before, and never had good luck and always reverted back to stock. So I do not plan to Over clock anything on this setup with current PSU. And will look at Overclocking the Sniper memory to 1600 on the new PSU if possible.

Current:
Phenom X2 550
Asus P.O.S. older chipset board with above CPU core unlocked for three.
Raptor Drive
2x4GB G Skill Sniper 1333mhz
600 watt PS (about 1.5 years old)

Upgrades:
MSI 990FXA-GD65 V2
FX-8320 (125watt)
From current system: Raptor Drive, 2x4GB G Skill Sniper 1333mhz,600 watt PS (Same as above)

Since I posted as wanting an answer and not a discussion, I can't really update, only select and answer. good to know for next time.

O.k. that good to know, wasn't sure if I would fry something only running the 4 pin for about a week. And I would hate to have stuff sitting on the self waiting to be used. :)

Here are the 2 PSU's I am thinking of getting, as they are in stock at the local BestBuy. I hate getting from there, but waiting another week would kill the mood.
