Anyone else excited for the new kinetic energy CPU cooler?

Well good luck fitting an evo 212 in an ITX case...

Not really a passive cooler either. (My last passive cooler, essentially the entire available surface of that ITX board, ended up needing a fan on a tiny 18 watt CPU, so not impressed)

I will wait for some third party benchmarks.

If all goes well I'd buy one to play around with. Tired of seeing the same AIO and tower heatsink every which way I look. Some might say that's being spoiled, but I would like to say there is always room for improvement and innovation as long as you're creative. I'm sure 10 years ago there would have been only a few thousand people (maybe even in the hundreds) who attempted liquid cooling but now anyone can do it as long as they can mount a block and screw in a radiator. Kind of ruins the feeling of making my system my own when everyone owns the same cooler as you. (which is why I plan to go custom soon anyway)

Even if it doesn't work out, it'll always be a nice little thing to reference and have fun speculation on where they might have gone if something went different and the possibility of someone else having a stab at it.

This cooler has the potential to achieve the same heat dissipation with a smaller footprint than a traditional low profile fan cooler. It could really change people's perspective about slim ITX cases like the Silverstone RVZ01, which is restricted to low profile CPU coolers that aren't always powerful enough to keep up with a gaming CPU at decent temps. Really hope to see this on the market sooner than later.

As long as the waste heat from the GPU itself doesn't exceed the cooling capability of the cooler you can use anything to cool a GPU. Mechanically attaching it is another matter altogether, but it could be done.

With the cooler master version, the outside rim of the cooler may be too large in circumference for most GPUs. (Might make the card impossible to insert into a board. In a normal tower case configuration it would end up upside down and it may not be operable in that orientation.
 
I have seen tries with like system long time ago, nothing came out of it. Laws of physics are pretty unbendable. Not even lawyers manage to change them. What's even worse, heat energy transfer between the cooler and processor is a weak spot in whole combination. There's another layer of TIM between core and the cover/heat spreader over it and may not be very best. Google "Processor Scalping" and you'll see what I mean.

More commonly known as de-lidding. I believe most GPUs are still soldered to their heat spreaders. Only Intel's recent consumer chips have TIM instead of solder. Past Sandy Bridge they are all paste, but that does not include the workstation E class processors.
