These past few days were the worst for me. After starting up my computer yesterday I was greeted with a black screen, followed by an A2 & 9C error for a split second in the lower right section of the screen. It then looks as if it restarted itself, as a few seconds of looking at a black screen it goes back to the MSI Gaming 5 dragon logo, and goes pretty much in a loop until the end of time .
I fixed the 9C error somehow, but the A2 still remains. Currently, I've done:
-Checked for any loose cables inside the PC
-Restarted the PC
-Check for any used ports that might have something that triggers these errors.
-Removed every external cable except the VGA and PSU cables and restarted the PC.
-Returned my BIOS settings to default (Not by CMOS, just through the moba setup page.)
-Attempted to install Windows 8.1, as well as running their diagnostics.
-Cry in frustration
What I'm going to try for the next hour or so:
-Reset the BIOS by CMOS
-Remove cables to different parts of the PC to search for a specific hardware failure
-Update the BIOS
-Switch monitors to see if it's a monitor problem (unlikely)
-Cry some more
My Build:
-Motherboard: MSI ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150 Motherboards Z97 GAMING 5
-CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K Processor 3.5 GHz LGA 1150
-GPU: Intel HD 4600
-PSU: Corsair CX Series 750 Watts
-RAM: Kingston HyperX FURY 8GB Kit (2x4GB) 1600MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM - Black
-HDD: WD Blue 1 TB Desktop Hard Drive
-Optical Drive (CD Drive): Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal OEM Optical Drive
I'm expecting a GTX 970 at the end of the week so I honestly don't have money to spare to replace any parts (I have insurance on everything except me dvd drive and motherboard). I'm also targeting to get this fixed by Friday.
*Note: I wasn't able for some odd reason to get the pre-installed case fans working when I built this in August, so I don't have any case fans. I'm also using the stock CPU fan for the i5, but I only overclocked once. That's all biting me in the butt right now
