how to overclocking Phenom II x4 965 be

Hi guys i have my phenom II x4 965 be that clocked at 3.4 ghz and i want to overclock it.
can you guys tell me what i need for overclocking?
i m planning on to get cooler master seidon 120xl and corsair gs700
and my motherboard is gigabyte GA 870a-UD3.
Can i overclock it or i need a better component?
and how can i do it?

That MB will allow you do OC some w/o issues. It has 8+2 phasing, so it has the power distribution necessary. The thing it lacks is heat syncs on the VRMs. They will get quite hot when OC'ing. W/o heat syncs they will fail earlier. You might want to look into getting some heat syncs for the VRMs. Here is one example: http://www.enzotechnology.com/mst_88.htm

I happen to also have a 965BE that I OC'ed to 4.0 GHz by simply increasing the CPU clock multiplier with a tiny bit of vcore voltage bump. It can now keep up with the R9-280 I have with it.
