My brother recently bought a gtx 970 and gave me his old msi 760 twin frozr.

I currently have the same card BUT it's a 4GB, his is 2. I read that this does usually work but I've also read it does not in some cases.

I have tried re-installing the drivers multiple times with no success.

I got them both hooked up and I have the bridge in place. They both show up in my device manager, however, I get no option to enable SLI in Nvidia's Control Panel.

My motherboard is a Z87-G45 GAMING.

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks!

nvidia cards are VERY demanding on SLI. Sometimes not even identical cards but from different manufactures work.

Most likely its the ram difference thats causing the incompatibility - > there is no way that i know of for you to fix this.

However all is not lost - > you can use the 4gb cards as your primary cards and use the 2gb cards for physx. You can do this in the Physx tab in nvidia control panel

Emdea22 is correct, however I would like to add that even if you use it as a physX card, you will not see much of a performance increase. The 970 is a powerhouse, and simply physX will not put any additional stress on it. Therefore, I cannot recommend the additional heat generation and power usage consumed by installing this card.

Ah, I correct myself. I misunderstood, I read it as "same card as his" thinking of the 970. I still can't justify such a large card for just physx. I would like to see some benchmarks, especially if it would change my point of view and recommendations.
