I built my computer back in about late August and haven't had any problems until about the past 3 or so weeks. It just randomly shuts off as if the power plug was pulled. Sometimes I can turn it back on and it will be fine. Other times I need to wait a while then it will work.

Build:
Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core
Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing
ASRock Z97 EXTREME4 ATX LGA1150
G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600
Crucial M500 120GB 2.5" SSD
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM
XFX Radeon R9 290 4GB Double Dissipation
Corsair 200R ATX Mid Tower
Corsair 600W ATX12V
Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer

I really have no idea what is wrong. Turning two of the fans to full speed seemed to help somewhat. I have overheating protection on which turns off my computer when the motherboard gets to hot. So is it a heat issue, psu issue or what? Please and thank you for any help.

Solution
Maybe the PSU just try to work hard to catch up the power consumption, then it maybe overheat, and it will shut down, when it does cool down, and it can work again, in this case you may check it out to touch the PSU or to see the PSU fan spun faster or not. In theory the cx600w will do the job done, because the whole system only need about 450W, I check it from http://pcpartpicker.com

Also can you check the MB BIOS? because the MB need at least the 1.30 version for the i7 4970K. http://asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z97%20Extreme4/?cat=Download&os=BIOS

so you think that the gpu eats up a lot of power so the psu doesn't have enough power to keep the rest of the computer running? I should also mention at times if seems as if I wait half an hour or so before the I can turn the computer on, and if I try before that, only the psu will turn on, but it won't power the motherboard.
