Hi all,

I've got a 5 year old machine that has been performing admirably, but not being taxed too hard. I'd like to give it to my son for a bit of gaming - Team Fortress and Borderlands 2 are his games of choice.

Here are the specs:
AMD Phenom II X4 '920' 2.80GHz Quad Core
Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 512MB GDDR3
4GB RAM Kingston DDR2 1066Mhz
Mainboard ASUS AM2+ M3A78-VM

I was thinking about throwing in an additional 2X2GB of RAM and a new GPU, although I'm not sure which GPU to go with? I was thinking the GTX 750Ti but I suspect it may be overkill for the machine?

Bonus question, is it worth attempting to overclock the CPU?

Thanks for the help.

A 750 Ti will last for a long time, might even still be good for the upcoming 5 years and may be a good investment. And for the processor if you dont have a aftermarket cooler do not overclock at all!
