Hey everyone! I am playing games on my PC and literally everyone in my house uses nearly all the bandwidth all the time and all they do is download small files and sometimes stream youtube. They are fairly dumb with I.T so they won't know what is causing the limit but they changed the password for the router when they first set it up from the default one (probably admin). I have a ZyXEL router I believe (not sure what model) and was wondering if I could place limits on the bandwidth for those users so that I can play my games without 5 kbps download speed and I get around 6000ms ping. I have BF4 and would love to play multiplayer more. Thanks as always guys :D

Solution
If you don't have the username/password, then it isn't 'your' router.

Convince the owner (person who pays the bill) to pay for better internet service, or offer to pay part of it to increase.

1st if are gaming wireless you are going to increase your ping and dropped packets. 2nd once you wire your connection you need to setup port forwarding on the router or if you are using XBOX or PS then you can do a Static rout instead. 3. you can't do anything if you don't have admin function on the router. 4. if you are not the owner of said router or network services and you gain root permissions without permission from the owner you are wire tapping/hacking and that is illegal.
