Will pci express 3.0 x16 card work in pci 2.0 x16 slot?

I'm planning to order an ASUS GTX750 TI 2GB OC, but my PSU has a pci 2.0 x16 slot. Will the GPU work? And one more thing, My PSU is 320w, is this enough to run the GTX 750 TI?

Intel Core i7 3770@3.4 ghz
8 gb ram
windows 8.1
1 tb hdd

  1. Your PSU is on the weak side, especially if it's not a top tier brand. Which brand & model is it?

    A PCI-e 3.0 card will work fine on PCI-e 2.0.

    What is the +12Vdc current/amp rating written on the label of your PS.?
  4. Yes, the pci-e gen 3 should work. I have run into an MSI motherboard that needed a bios update to run pci-e 3.0 .

  7. Sounds like a simple workstation PSU. You're probably gonna have to upgrade it if you want a gaming card to run on it. Especially with an i7 installed.
