i just bought a Evga gtx 680. But then found out that it requires 2x6pin PCIe and my PSU has only 1. I dont want to buy a new PSU(500W) because i just bought it a month ago. So, i decided to make an adapter of 2xmolex to 1 pin PCIe. Then, I did a little research and found out that my GPU needs a minimum of 38 amp on 12V rail. I know that in a 6pin PCIe above 2 pin(i.e. 4 and 6)has 12 v config. As my psu says +12v -> 16A.(thus, 32A??or is it?) So does it mean 2x 6pin PCIe will give 64A, 12V for the GPU? Is it enough or too much? Im just not sure or am I going crazy?(cause I havent been able to use my GPU for a long time)
Also I know 500W may not be enough. I would be willing to buy a 650-700W PSU but none I found has a 2x6 pin PCIe. The Corsairs and the others are too expensive. I just want to stick with adapter for now. Any help please?

Solution
No. A 650W PSU that lacks PCIe power cables most likely is a cheap generic with a liar-label on it, perhaps good for half its label. Post a link to where you can buy, and your budget, and we'll have a look.
What brand and model is your PSU? It sounds like it may be insufficient for the task at hand. Adding adapters does not magically increase a PSU's capabilities; in fact I consistently recommend against such adapters because they are more likely to explosively demonstrate what happens when a PSU is overloaded.
Any quality 650W PSU will have at least two 6-pin PCIe cables (furthermore, one or more should be 6+2 pin). Buying a cheap PSU is never a good idea. Check out XFX and Rosewill (preferably Capstone) for reasonably priced alternatives.

Im aware that buying cheap PSU is dangerous in all ways and Im ready buy a heavy 650 W. But in none have I found 2x6pin PCie. Maybe they are all really old or something(atleast not in my country). Anyway, the main thing I want to know before I start wiring is...Do you guys recommend that I use adapters(molex to 6pin PCIe) in case I do not find PSUs with 2x6pin PCIe?

wow..i just realized my PSU manufacturer doesnt even have a website.. its Goldkist atx500wb&p4. My dealer has some answering to do. All my dealers have the same brand. They are only offering 550-700W with no 2x6pin PCIe. I think I can trust your words with no. of PCIe cables. I doubted in the beginning too. Thank you for opening my eyes. Onus and bootcher.
(extra info: also that explains why my previous GPU blew up)
