Hi guys,

I have been checking out quite a few threads with the budget builds around $600-800 - but as I know the development in computer parts change constantly it is very hard to keep track of the best setup currently at a decent price.

It will be my first build, so please bare with my very limited knowledge about building my own

The main use for the computer will be playing FPS and MMORPG - not really sure which ones as I haven't had a decent gaming computer for the past 4 years.

Would prefer an Intel vs. AMD & doesn't have to include Win8 in the $800 budget. - if it has to go a bit above $800 in order to get a better gfx card, it's okay as well.

Appreciate your help!

Thank you!

Do you need a OS, monitor, mouse or keyboard? I'm not 100% sure on what you said. Do you prefer an Intel CPU? AMD or Nvidia for your graphics card? What is your absolute max budget?

Will you only be using your computer for primarily gaming or editing videos/photos, rendering etc?

Sorry if I was a bit unclear - I already have monitor, keyboard etc. - I only need the actual tower + contents ;)

I prefer the Intel CPU, yes. - Around the $800 mark as I know it's easy just to keep adding a bit more and you are way above budget.

It will be gaming, I have no interest in any form of photo/video editing etc.

Thanks!

You could go with a "smaller" GPU and squeeze in an i5 processor (i5 4460), but the i3 would be just fine and your gaming would love the GTX 970.
