I have this persistent issue with my newly built PC where it freezes and I have to restart the computer manually. Everything is up to date and it only crashes when I'm surfing the web. I can play mine craft and watch videos flawlessly but when I start surfing the web it randomly freezes. Here is everything that is in my pc: http://pcpartpicker.com/user/DanWilkinson/saved/J8DhP6

I've been looking into this problem for days and I've had no luck. Any help is greatly appreciated. (All the drivers and software is up to date) Thanks.

I've done everything except the bios update because I can't find the bios update link for my model

There are three common steps that you can take to try and resolve the freezing:

Step 1
Run system maintenance troubleshooter.
a) Press Windows Key +R, type Control Panel.
b) Type troubleshooting in the search bar, click on troubleshooting.
c) Click on System and Security, click on System Maintenance.
d) Follow the steps from the wizard to run the troubleshooter.

Step 2
I would suggest that you manually update the display drivers and check if it makes any difference.
You must be logged on as an administrator to perform these steps.
a)Open Device Manager by pressing Windows key + X and clicking Device Manager. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.‌
b)In the list of hardware categories, find the display adaptors, and then double-click the device name.
c)Click the Driver tab, click Update Driver, and then follow the instructions. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Step 3
If the freezing persists, place the computer in “Clean Boot” state to check if any third-party application is causing the issue. Clean Boot eliminates software conflicts.

I've put it in safe mode and it runs fine so it has to be a software issue. Could it be windows 8?

Can you try clean boot as then it will launch full windows 8 but no other software at startup?

I did clean boot and it froze up on me again.

OK. If it's only when you are browsing the web, try using a different browser and post your results.

he said he's tried a different browser.

sounds like he might have some sort of virus or adware.

Download malwarebytes, run a full scan.
if it catches anything, download adwcleaner from bleepingcomputers.com and run that as well
should be good to go assuming it's nothing serious.

That would be weird to have a virus considering I built it and it didn't work from the get go but I'll give it a shot

It's not the browsers. It crashes regardless of what I'm doing, I was wrong when I said it didn't crash when I was playing minecraft, I just didn't give it enough time to crash.
