What is the compatibility of an Adaptec ASR-51645 raid card which is configured as a PCIe x8 raid card in a PCIe x16 slot on the Asus Sabertooth z77 board?

Solution
As kanewolf said, should be alright. I've run x4 and x8 RAID cards from a couple of manufacturers in PCIe x16 slots without problems. I assume you've read the manual for the RAID card already :)

Only time I seem to remember slight, non-terminal problems, was when I tried dropping RAID cards straight into the x16 slot when it had had a graphics card in it immediately before, and was on a board with a single x16 slot. I seem to remember I had to uninstall the driver and other software for the GFX, and switch to the onboard graphics, before trying to use that slot for the RAID card.

I've used PCIe x1 GFXs in x16 slots as well, and again, no problems if I uninstalled whatever GFX was in there first, IIRC.
