Hi.
I have Acer Aspire 7003WSMi.
It had 1GB ram (minus 128MB for the display adapter)
i decided to add 4GB memory, (2x2GB).
Both of the memory chips work well alone, but together not working.
Windows gives me blue screen on boot up and tells me to update bios.
I downloaded the bios file for aspire 7000 (i hope this is correct bios?)
but when i run the MAM_V120.exe it says "Open flash.sys Fail".

(i have windows 7 pro)

Any ideas?

It is 64bit.
but in the crash blue screen it says something about updating the BIOS.
And that is what i am trying to do. to use it with 4GB of ram.

I am running the system with 2GB of ram now, since it is working for now but i need 4GB.

So my question still stays: How can i update the bios to enable the system to understand 4GB of ram?

ok, i installed Windows XP
then i updated the bios
and installed windows 7 pro x64
and now the computer isn't booting at all with 4GB of ram (can't even go to the bios settings), but works with 2GB as before the bios update.

But because the display adapter is taking some of the ram, 2GB isn't enough.

Any idea on how to get it working?

I tested both ram chips, so they both work alone, but not together.
