Hi, I am replacing my two harddrives with two ssd. I have a window's image backup of these 2 drives. If I upgrade the firmware on the ssd, can I just swap out the hhd for ssd and boot up with recovery disk, and then use window's image backup to restore my computer? Or do I need to first clone them before installing? many thanks, Manny

The best way to go about doing what you want is to clone the HDD to the SDD, wipe the old drive, restart, and change the boot order from your bios. The link below gives good step-by-step instruction on how to do this.

HDD Swap

Yes you can recover to any drive you wish using the full system image files from windows. :)
