The HDMI output is not working from my HP Pavilion g6-1d16dx to my TV. The HDMI cable & TV work with other laptops, but not this one. The TV says "no signal" and the laptop has no indication that there is anything plugged into the HDMI port.
I have Windows 7, and I updated the Intel HD Graphics Family driver. I've tried changing the screen resolution, and using F4 to change the output to duplicate, extend, and 'projector only' the display - none of that helped.
I also tried booting to a liveUSB with Ubuntu, and Ubuntu was not able to detect the TV connected to the HDMI port either.
When I look at my Display adapters in the Device Manager, the HDMI port does not show up, just the Intel HD Graphics Family.
Also, when I look at my Sound devices, I only see Speakers and Headphones or Communications Headphones (both with the IDT High Def Audio Codec), but I don't see an HDMI sound output option.
I've found some posts on the hp.com forums about other Pavilion g6's having this issue, but I didn't find any solutions that have worked.
I haven't ever tried using the HDMI port on this computer.
Any suggestions? Do you need any more info about my system?
Thank you!
