I have very little idea about ram and I really need your help. My motherboard is Asus P8H67-M LE. In one of the two slots I have Corsair xms3 (which is 1600MHz 4GB 9-9-9-24 1.65v (test voltage) and 1.5v (speicified voltage) CAS latency 9/9/2009).

The model is discontinued and now I want to add another 4GB in the unused slot. Can you please let me know if I can buy Corsair Vengeance (1600MHz 4GB 9-9-9-24 1.5v (test voltage) and 1.5v (speicified voltage) CAS latency 9/9/2009)? Or can you please suggest any other ram that can be a better match and available in flipkart website? Here are the links for specification of Corsair xms3 and Corsair Vengeance.

Thanks

The G-skill will work you can try just one and if that doesn't work well with your other stick you can buy another one or just buy a set. http://www.gskill.com/en/product/f3-10666cl9s-4gbxl-
Your Mobo is listed.

Here's the memory support list for your Mobo. http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H67M_LE/HelpDesk_QVL/
However really any 1333 240pin memory will most likely work the list's provided by the manufacturers is just the ram they have tested that works. 1600 isn't supported so most likely the mobo is underclocking it to 1333 or 1066 and putting anything more than that into the mobo could cause compatibility issues though not always as with your current ram. So no I wouldn't buy the corsair 1600 I would either go with something on the list or a 1333 mhz 240pin module if you cant get the one that matches your current stick.

Ok thank you so much. I have few doubts and need your help.

So can I buy 1333 MHz and use it with my current 1600 MHz or do you suggest me to remove the current one and buy a pair of 1333 MHZ. Also if the current 1600 MHz is usable with 1333 MHz, what are the specification for the new ram I should look at to find matches with my current stick?

If you try running 2 different sticks you may have problems with compatibility so if you can't find a matching stick to the one you already have I would recommend getting a pair of 1333 ram. You can check the list to be sure the ram will work with your mobo but other than that I can't say with 100% certainty that all 1333/240pin ram will work with your mobo but in most cases you'll be fine.

You could just buy the one stick of 1333 if you cant find the 1600 stick I know it's compatible with your mobo and it may be the second best option if they don't work together you can always buy another 1333 stick or wait until a 1600 stick is in stock.

Only problem is the timings are different again this can cause problems with compatibility your best option is to get another 1600 stick or a dual set of 1333.

I'm guessing your not in the US but you should be able to locate some for your area I would think.
