Recently i upgraded my graphics card and now i want to upgrade my CPU, I am not very good with hardware and need help choosing one that will run well with my PC.

Specifications:
-AMD Radeon R9 200 series
-8GB of RAM
-1TB Hard-Drive
-ATX power supply STP-650
-Windows 7 64-bit operating system
-Asus motherboard M5A78L-M LX3

At the moment i have a: AMD FX(tm)-4100 Quad-core processor 3.60GHz

Although my gaming Pc is a good build in heavy multiplier games or modes such as Arma 3 Altis life i lag will this help it as there are round 100 people on at one time!

I am thinking about a Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 Motherboard with a AMD FX8350 Black Edition 8 Core Processor (is this good?)

Almost enough information. Most importantly you need to set a budget.

R9-200 series is a very wide range of performance. So we would need to know exactly which one to pick a suitable CPU.

You could most likely drop in an FX-8320 or FX-8350. And if the motherboard doesn't quite meet the power requirments, possibly an FX-8350E.

If you could provide the exact motherboard model, that would help in choosing a processor.

Performance increases will depend on the game. FX-4100 is a little slower then the newer FX-4300, but has the same single core performance as the FX-6300 and FX-8320 roughly. The FX-8350 runs at a significantly faster clock speed and has 8 cores.

Any game that can talk advantage of multiple cores will do better the more...

Another option would be to completely replace the motherboard and CPU, but that would be determined by your maximum budget.

What r9 200 series card? And your lagging because the arma engine is an unoptimized piece of garbage and doesn't run well on anything especially amd cpu's like the one you have. My fx 6350 which is a bit better than yours barely runs arma 2 dayz mod at a playable frame rate.

I run around 200FPS on Arma 3 on every game mode accept Altis lIfe and i play at least 50-70 on day Z and Arma 2.
I also want a new CPU as my computer runs a little slow!

You see im counting the days until i will be able to afford to switch to intel most other games run fine its just that one that gets me and i like arma its a damn shame.

Yah i agree you would need a beast of a pc to get 200 fps out of arma i dont even know if the game engine will allow that.
