Can I put 2 of the same graphics cards on my crossfire motherboard?

I have an AMD Radeon 5670 Graphics card , can I put another graphics card that is the same one I have now with crossfire , or do they have to be different?

To CrossFire AMD branded video cards, both cards must have a graphics chip from the same family. So, if you wish to pair a second graphics card with your current HD 5670 you will need either an HD 5650 or HD 5670 graphics card to match it, as either of these cards are of the same family. When in CrossFire, both cards will run with the settings from the slower card.

It is recommended you have at least a 450 watt power supply or better if you wish to CrossFire a pair of HD 5670 graphics cards.

I would also recommend updating your graphics driver to the most recent for your system as AMD has made some great improvements to CrossFire support over the last year.

I agree with above.

Don't Crossfire another HD5670. Even a $100 graphics card would be far better than what you'd end up with. You probably only have 1GB or even less of VRAM and Crossfire can cause stutter.

I recommend one of the following for about $100 to $130 (some with rebates though):

32-bit Windows (use 1GB VRAM only)

*I can't give better advice without knowing your specs, especially your power supply. Note that the GTX750 and 750Ti are capable of using a 300W PSU usually.

Newer AMD cards can use MANTLE which is perhaps not a big deal for you but it is a factor.
