I bought a used motherboard, and 2 standoffs were still in it, with 2 screws. I have tried holding the standoff with pliers, but it does not work, how am I supposed to remove these?

Solution
You need to make sure that you are using pliers on the standoff and the correct size screwdriver (either Phillips or flat-head, make sure the bit is the right size) on the screw.

With the screwdriver inserted into the screw head, try getting the standoffs with the pliers. Head can be applied to the standoff to help, just don't get it near the motherboard.

If the screw is striped, you are going to have to grip an exposed section of the screw. One can buy small rubber tubing or rings that fit around the head of the screws as a gripping base.
