Hello!
I really need some help.
So what I do is, when I want to use my headset for the microphone, then I will unplug my speakers from the front panel, and I will plug in my headset. What happened was, I decided to Skype my friend and play CoD Ghosts, and everything worked fine until the game began to lag my computer. What usually happens at this point is, I have to turn off my computer by holding down the power button. This time, it managed to stay on, and it's still running now. The problem came when I decided to end the Skype call, and plug my speakers back in. The first thing I notice is that the audio is muted, so I click the little speaker icon, and then it comes up with a troubleshooter, telling me that the device is not plugged in. I retry my headset, and it works. I also tried the motherboard audio jack, and my speakers still didn't work. Usually, when I plug in an audio device using a 3.5mm jack, an MSI program comes up to configure surround sound, and what kind of device it is, etc. This opened when I plugged in my headset. When I unplugged it, the message saying I unplugged something came up. Now, that won't happen again. The only reason my headset works is because it uses USB and 3.5mm jack, but it only really needs USB.
I'm worrying that my motherboard audio is dead and I may have to get some USB speakers, when is just a pain.
I have not rebooted my computer as of yet, so it may fix it, but probably not.
Thanks for getting this far, I know it was a long post (sorry!).

Well, it turns out rebooting seems to have solved the problem. And yes, I did try my headset as I said, and they weren't recognised through the 3.5mm jack, only by USB, and back panel was not working either. Anyway, it seems to be working now, but thanks for the help.
