I turned on my Sony Vaio which loaded up regularly except it took me to a Disk Check screen before logging into Windows. It froze during the Disk Check so I restarted it and it took me to Repair Windows screen instead of starting up, this has happened before whenever my laptop crashes or whatever and it fixes it and it restarts and boots normally. This time, it finished repairing and brought me back to the same thing. Now it says it cannot be repaired and Windows cannot find the problem. I've tried Command Prompt with DskChk and BootRec and none of those worked. I don't currently have my Windows 7 CD so I can't repair it with that. None of options work such as Safe Mode or Use Last Known Good Configuration. I also have no System Restore. What are my options???

I would let it do it's chkdsk there might be errors that need repairing.Depending on how big your hard drive is.The Chkdsk normally does not freeze. It means your drive is big.I would let it do it's thing.Should not take no more then an hour if your drive is full.

Have you tried re-installing the operating system?

In my past experience when I have seen a computer do this in most cases it ended up being a bad hard drive. On occasion re-installing the OS helped.
