Hi,

My Canon Pixma MG7160 Printer is not connecting to network. I have followed these steps:

1. Using the on board touch screen to connect to network using WPS button on router
2. Connecting to network by inputting SSID and passphrase
3. Blue wifi LED on printer is lit solid - so not a physical connection problem
4. Have viewed the connection under LAN settings as 'Active' but interestingly NO ip4/ip6 address information is displayed
5. I have reset my router and printer settings to no avail. My router is an Energy Imports VB104W 4 port VDSL model.
6. I have installed the latest MG7160 drivers on my PC, the printer is always shown as being offline and not currently on the home network. I'm running Windows 7, 32 bit
7. I have tested it at the retailer and it connected to their network fine - IP address had been assigned

Any thoughts or work arounds would be greatly appreciated. I'm thinking it may be a setting I have to change on the router?

Many thanks
Keith

I never had any luck with the whole WPS thing. Should not have to do anything to the router. If it sees you ssd ans the paraphrase is correct, it should connect just fine. Do you have to do it from the touch screen? or can you set it up in the printers software? Give it another go and report back.

Hi,
Have done all of the above. Have used the SSID/passphrase method on the LCD panel and used the Canon Software with wireless and USB connection. Still the same problem. I hope this doesn't seem like a dead end :O
