Okay, so I am looking to build my first gaming PC. I have limited experience with general computer construction, but I have never done something this complex before. I was wondering if this build is powerful enough to handle games like DayZ, BF4, and other higher end games on high settings with pretty good FPS settings without being too powerful. Is there anything you would recommend changing? I'm trying to stay in the $800-$1200 price range. Thank you for any help you can offer!

Your build is a little unbalanced.

This build has a locked cpu (means it cant be over clocked) but it wont matter as it it excellent for gaming.
You wont notice difference between the corsair and the kingston memory.
The 970 will absolutely smoke the 270 in ALL tasks.
Added an ssd for crazy fast boot times.
Is equipped with a better quality power supply.
I think you are overspending on the case (in your build).

If you don't want to raise the price, drop the SSD.

CPU - Great I5 (locked) so don't bother overclocking.

Mobo - Good H97 motherboard that'll do just fine.

Ram - Standard Cas 9 / 1600

Storages - Also standard 1 TB 7200rpm, and 128 SSD for OS and a couple other games.

GPU - As stated above, it is significantly better than the R9 270. It'll easily max out ALMOST EVERY game at 1080p.. unless it's horribly coded.

PSU - Awesome 550w power supply from XFX.

Case - Great case for the price, imo. It has alot of potential for future upgrades.

Thank you so much for the help. This really clears up some questions I had. Do you think I need to add any additional fans other than the two that are included with the case? Thank you again for all your help!

What is the problem with the PCU? If I did go with ykki's build, I would use the case you recommended over his.

You're right. I did some research on the two and yours had better reputation. Thank you so much for the help. You two have been extremely helpful.
