My computer shuts down when I use my graphics card. I recently brought a new psu (600w) in hope that would solve it, unfortunately not. My graphics card is the GTX 550ti.
What do you mean by use? Watching videos? Playing games?
What is the exact make and model of your power supply?
When I play games while connected to my graphics card via HDMI. My new power supply is an ATX 'Corsair CX600'. When it's not connected to the graphics card it works fine, but can't handle graphic demanding games.
Can you try downloading a GPU OC utility (I prefer to use the one from the graphics card manufacturer, but MSI Afterburner is good) and dialing back the core and memory clocks by 100 MHz?

I saw that the temperature was going up into the 90's upon just launching the game and shutting down at 98/99 degrees. Could it be just overheating?
I wanted to know the fan speed at the time of the overheat to see if the fans were working correctly or not.
When my card needs to be cleaned, I remove the heatsink, clean off the thermal paste with isoproyl alcohol, and clear the dust (maybe remove the fans if necessary/possible). Then I reapply the thermal paste and reseat the heatsink.
