I have my computer for about 6 years now, it works like a charm but these days not so much.
I have some problems with it making a weird screeching noise when its processing data, mostly when i am going into World of Warcraft. It also makes a mild screeching noise right now, while im typing. Its not coming from the hard disk. It goes into intervals so it isnt repetitive, like this: ''SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS- (Normal for about 5 seconds and then it continues)''. I sometimes download games over night and then i hear it making that loud noise so bad i can hear it across the room. Keep in mind, im bad at giving data of my computer , i can just tell you this:Intel(R) Pentium (R) 4 CPU 3.01 GHz, 1.00GB of RAM. Oh, and my graphic card has overheated about five months ago, it was a dust problem, its an old graphic card, a Radeon x300/x550/x1050 series with a memory size of 512mb. I also dont know how to fix the fan of my graphic card, i never cleaned it and it has some black stuff inbettwen and its really hot when i play video games. Gonna need alot of solutions mates.

I would recommend getting a new computer. If one part has already failed others could follow soon. If you want us to help you make a new one, just supply a budget.

Hello, it sounds like you have old-computer-syndrome. The only known cure is a new computer.

You could try identifying the source of the noise and replace it but it would probably be restricted (any new performance gain from new parts) by your old parts. And then those parts would have problems etc.

Basically, if you can afford it your best option would be to build a new computer. If you decide you can do this then supply a budget and what you will use the PC for then we will try to make a suggested build (please include a list of currently owned parts in case any can be reused to reduce cost)

If you cannot afford a new computer (minimum of $400 for a decent, reliable new system really) then try identifying the source, try stopping fans to see if the noise goes or listening to the PSU and graphics cards. You are possibly having coil whine from the PSU which is fixed by replacing the PSU. If you are absolutely SURE it is not the hard drives then the only other sources are PSU, Case fans and GPU. Try listening to each and identifying the source. Then replace the part that is causing the noise.

Hey! I opened it up the other day and i realised it came from the.... Whats it called, the big fan? Haha, i dont know its name, i kind of blowed inside and wow, there was a lot of dust. Only thing that upsets me now is the fact my graphics card fan is broken, so i dont know what to do, do i replace it? and what is the budget?

If the fan is broken you will either need to do some DIY fan replacement or replace the card.

The budget is how much money you have avaliable to spend on this computer. Make sure to include a currency unit.

see if it better to replace / update your current pc to stand for the next 5 years playing new games at ulta or 3 etc, get a buget set thin look for parts

make sure you know that max power required for new parts so you dont over tax your PSU gen rule is 70% max lode give or take 5%

Bad news, i was playing terraria last night and my computer shut down suddenly. I though it was probably something mild.
But now , in the morning i cant turn it on. I can see that the little lamp inside is glowing, green but it wont turn on... Could it be my power supply? Since thats where the noise was coming from.
