Hey guys. I made my computer recently, but I've been getting an issue.

BsoD ( Memory Management )

and ive took another look at my motherboard and it supports up to 3100mhz ram,
and i have two 1600 mhz ram sticks, which comes up to 3200mhz ram ( two 8gb sticks ) .

So i took one ram stick out and no more....bsod..

could this have been overclocking issue or something that motherboard couldn't handle?

( If so, how much ram should i add in to my already existing 8gb stick? )

Thanks

It doesn't work like that with ram speed. You don't multiply 2 1600mhz sticks to equal 3200. Your motherboard is being listed as supporting modules up the 3200mhz(with a good memory controller I'm sure). Since you said the BSOD went away using one stick, I would try swapping out the one stick that is currently working with the other stick. You want to verify if each stick works correctly individually. If one stick still produces BSODs, you have a bad stick of RAM and you'll need to RMA the memory kit. BTW, did these sticks come in a kit, or are they different 8GB sticks that you had already?

Thanks so much for reply. I bought them together. its Viper 8gb sticks from frys .

As soon as the computer was made, BSOD was popping out of nowhere.. with always the same error : MEMORY MANAGEMENT .

So i tried. Both sticks are fine individually... but if I put both sticks in , BSOD pops up.. what could be the issue here.?..

This is my spec

- Intel i7
- DDR3 1600MHz Dual V Viper 3 Sapphire Blue 16 GB ( 2 sticks of 8 GB ) Ram
- TT toughpower 750W Power Supply
- EVGA GTX660 2GB DDR5 Graphics Card
- Gigabyte GA Z97X-UD3H motherboard

Thanks :)
